Apologia – Why your comments aren’t registering

Filed under: Uncategorized — kathryntherese at 6:47 pm on Sunday, December 2, 2007

Ohmygosh.

Some time ago, I changed my email address. While the old one is still functional, I do not check it (SPAM-o-mania!!). Although I have changed my email address in my profile, StBlogs seems to have not registered it. Or not completely. Because sometimes, my email notifications go to one Inbox, and sometimes they go to another….

Today I tripped into my Dashboard and realized there were quite a few comments that were “Awaiting Moderation.” And I am sorry if yours was one of them.

They have all been approved now, thoroughly confusing any conversation we were trying to have. I’ll try to stay on top of that in the future.

And, Phil, I will certainly speak at Connect again. But I can’t seem to find your email address…

Meanwhile, Happy New (Church) Year! I pray we all have a blessed and somewhat recollected Advent as we await Him.

Apologia – Why my conversation here is sparse and sporadic

Filed under: Uncategorized — kathryntherese at 9:35 am on Thursday, November 15, 2007

My friend Elizabeth said it well here (not the part about negative comments, though I do get those in my email Inbox at times):

The tasks I face at home while I try to educate the children God has entrusted to me are overwhelming… Anything I do or write online can only come from the bubbling over of a full life here at home; it cannot rob my home. It cannot deplete me the way conversation invariably does. Because I know that it will leave me with nothing left of me to give…

I’d like to believe that in the quiet, I’m more likely to hear God. Because that’s what I really want for my home, for my children, for my life, for my blog–incessant dialogue with God. So I’m trying here to do what seems impossible, stay little and hidden enough to serve Him in a place that is very big and very public. I’m trying to live what I believe and blog what I live.

So (though you have all been very patient with me) please don’t interpret my lack of response as a lack of interest in your comments or a lack of desire to dialogue on these topics. I enjoy this conversation very much, but my priorities have to be people and prayer or this is all just more words in cyberspace. Unnecessary and meaningless.

My time is not my own, but what little I have to give, I give freely!

More soon. Meanwhile, let’s continue to pray for one another.

Someone sent this, and I couldn’t resist trying it :-/

No, the tent hasn’t collapsed, nor have I fallen off a cliff…

Still here, editing the Stations, working with the artist, formatting a new book for a friend. Wondering, when I read what has been written and see how poorly my own writings hold meaning, whether I should write another word while I am on this planet.

But, I am writing these words now, to let you all know that I am alive and well, and no Greek tragedy has befallen me or any of those I love. Still here, supported by your prayers and the grace of God.

Thanks for checking back. Let’s continue to pray for one another.

+Pax.

a little intermission…

We are leaving for a week-long vacation with the kids (our last hurrah of summer!), so I probably will not have time to post. But I look forward to your comments, which I should be able to access via laptop.

I will perhaps follow the suggestion to post about Fr. Dubay’s podcasts on Contemplation (which I’ve tucked neatly in my iPod for the road) when I return. That will be a conversation I look forward to.

Meanwhile, we pray for one another.

What Your Latte Says About You

You are easygoing and pretty simple to please. You don’t put up a fuss… ever. You are a very serious person. You don’t have time for silly antics. You have a good deal of energy, but you pace yourself. You never burn out too fast.

You’re totally addicted to caffeine… but you like to pretend like you aren’t!

You are responsible, mature, and truly an adult. You’re occasionally playful, but you find it hard to be carefree.

You are expressive and friendly, but you are never pushy.

What Does Your Latte Say About You?

Ok, now I’m just getting silly….

but my daughter says this is surprisingly accurate.

All things ridiculous, combined

the hippie chick :)

Here’s a view of Lower Wombleshire, Lady Kathryn presiding over the court of birds and clouds. And one little sister.

(Lest I mislead you, I should make clear that this pic is several decades old)
