Exhaling

The sky is the only omnipresence we all accept. So look up!

It’s Mama Maria’s joy too!

During this joyful celebration of the Lord’s resurrection, let’s not forget that it is a time to remember Mama’s joy as well.

On that Easter morning, she sees the fulfillment of every promise and she understands more clearly than any living creature the full meaning of this Event. The ecstatic consolation of again beholding her Son – so recently beaten, broken, poured out for us – now revived, risen, restored, made new, is in direct correlation to the depth of her sharing in His suffering and death. In a sense, His resurrection is her own. She is allowed to touch His glorified Face, to kiss Him with such love and joy that she is already in Heaven – He is Heaven. He holds her gently to His Heart, as her own heart finds its rhythm in His. She brings Him as much joy as He gives her.

Just a few days ago, she held His dead body in her grieving arms, clutching Him to her broken heart. Now it is He who supports her in His glorious arms.

Beauty embraces beauty, Purity looks into the bright eyes of purity, Love unites again with love.

A moment of glory.

Lovely. :-) Yes, all her quiet ponderings coalesce into the wordless nod of her “yes,” and now, in Him, she has gained what she’d like to have raised for and to God with Their good Joseph, and in timeless time under wingless wing, Jerusalem’s children wouldst be gathered like chicks after all.

I’ve often tried to contemplate the time Jesus must have spent with His Mama too but I’ve not been able to as beautifully as you have described it…. thanks for that…

This Easter I have been pondering the angels role in Jesus & Mary’s life, from the annunciation, to Josephs dreams, (the warning to the maji too) the agony in the garden, at the tomb at the ressurection, to the ascension. Was it always Gabriel I’ve wondered? I am thinking about our own guardian angels & how God speaks to us through our angels every day. Maybe it is too childlike to think so simply, but perhaps if can learn to grasp these little things,, that God will bless that & let those trickles of grace turn into a fountain in time, so that I can be able to share these beautiful things like you seem to do so easily. Your words are a blessing Kathryn….

Good points, E. Your words, too, are a blessing. I hope you don’t underestimate your blog, it is very comforting.

Angels is the one subject we hear even less about from the pulpit than sin. I wish I had a much greater grasp of their Good-willed nearness. It would help. And perhaps that may be a fruit of the Rosary, too, if we’d like it.

Thanks Carol for your kind words. I agree that may graces we receive are a fruit of the rosary. When I had a conversion some 13 years ago & I felt a very strong desire to pray the rosary, (like it was something I knew I had to pray daily for the rest of my life) many graces & blessings flowed forth from my responding to that. I went back to confession, started going to daily Mass & received so much grace to weed out all my bad sinful habits & the strength & desire to truly live my life to please God & only desire His Will. I can look back & see my angel was used & I know he helped every day w/ his gentle whispers in my ears & heart. I was thinking that because of what you said about what I said about the angels may be a fruit of the rosary, that our beloved Mother could be putting this in my heart to remind me & encourage me to turn to my lifetime guardian angel. I am sharing this because my hope is to encourage others too. I feel much of the time that many graces I receive are not meant just for me, but for others as well, that these graces are not meant for a select few, but for anyone who is willing to reach for them. One beautful way to begin to *reach* out for those graces especially when we do not know how, is through the rosary, it is there where Mary our beloved Mother leads us & she herself brings those graces straight to our hearts, & it is why (I think) the rosary can be so powerful..

This is really lovely, kt. It makes me want to really think about Mary’s joy more, about her feelings as a mother. It’s true we do tend to concentrate on the Passion, and on the seven dolours. It’s good to talk about the joy.
